Do I need gym equipment to carry out one of Lesley's workouts?
All of the LWL workouts can be done with own body weight only. However sometimes Lesley introduces dumbbells into some of the exercises to increase the intensity of the workout. This is optional and as your fitness levels increase you may want to purchase a set of dumbbells to keep the workout challenging for you.
What fitness level do I need to be?
The LWL workouts are suitable to all fitness levels from beginner to intermediate to advanced. As soon as you are working your maximum output you will get returns. Lesley offers modifications to suit your fitness level and advise on how and when to increase the challenge through speed or resistance.
When should I expect to see results?
Training with LWL will give you an immediate boost to how you feel. It's a quick and effective way to build lean muscle and increase cardio fitness as well as toning your body and improving flexibility. In addition to all this lovely stuff you will improve how you feel about you and life, creating a positive vibe to your day.
How often should I train?
Lesley recommends giving a little of your day to you! Start off introducing LWL home workouts 3 times a week and if you can increase this to 5 times a week as often as possible that would be awesome. It's 20 mins - it's your time, for you to look after your personal fitness.
How important is diet?
Diet is very important. At LWL we believe it is not about cutting, reducing or supplementing - it's about eating real food, often and regularly and in small portions. Check out LWL 4 Week Blast.
Why are my muscles so sore after a workout?
DOMS - delayed onset of muscular soreness can occur up to 48 hours after exercising. It's doesn't matter how fit you are, in fact it is to be expected that our body will give us telltale signs of a good workout. LWL believe that gently working through DOMS is a much better way of dealing with the soreness rather than stopping.
Can I target specific parts of my body?
Its about being your best you inside and out, it's not possible to target just one area of your body. To achieve best results in any workout it is better to do a full body workout. Combining LWL workouts with our clean healthy eating plan, incorporating our simple, easy and delicious recipes will result in success.
I am on medication is it still okay to perform a workout?
We recommend you check with your GP or Consultant to get clearance to participate in our workouts. In most circumstances it will be highly recommended by your doctor to exercise.
