Get back on track after the Summer

As we head towards the end of summer, it's time to trade those beers in the garden for early mornings and meal prepping. This may sound a little tough after relaxing for few weeks and enjoying the sunshine (when it made an appearance), but these top tips will help you get back into your routine and get yourself back on track.
Get organised

Create an exercise plan If you do not have an exercise routine to get back into. Now is the perfect time to start one. Your ideal workout plan will depend on your health, age, diet, schedule, and goals. For most people the key to sticking with something long term is finding an enjoyable activity. Go easy on yourself

Do not beat yourself up about what you should have done differently over the summer or feel guilty about indulging while you were on your staycation. It has been a different experience for us all this summer. Its time to get back into it and take responsibility for establishing good habits now and keep your goals in mind. The important thing is to focus on the present.

Get cooking at home

If you are craving your favourite home-cooked meals after being away, take advantage of that motivation to get in the habit of cooking whenever you can. When you make your own meals, you are in control of the ingredients and can avoid the empty calories and excess sugar found in many restaurant meals.

Remove trigger foods

Make sure to remove trigger foods. Get into the presses and get rid anything that could derail you from your goal. If you take the problem out of the equation, you are on the fast-track to success.

Get enough sleep

After summer, it is normal to feel a little run down. Although you will be busy organising to get back on track, you need some time out for much-needed rest. Make sure you are getting at least 7-8 hours’ sleep each night. Set aside some time each day to unwind. Have a bath, read a book, listen to some music. Do whatever makes you feel happy and relaxed.
